Spotlight on for Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh Stadt at the 13th Global Conference of Sustainable Manufacturing in Vietnam

The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) hosted the 13th Global Conference of Sustainable Manufacturing for the first time in Vietnam.


More than 200 researchers, scientists and business-leaders from around the world have attended the three-day conference on sustainable manufacturing in the southern province of Binh Duong from September 16-18, 2015

The event offered keynote speeches, panel discussions with parallel sessions on sustainable approaches, presented benchmark solutions from companies and focused on practical solutions in the fields of sustainability in fashion, technology and innovation management, industrial development and urban sustainability, and sustainable business model strategies in the manufacturing industry.

Over the course of three days the conference bridged the gap between industrialized and emerging countries by focusing on local applications and societal implications of innovative technologies. Discussions pertaining to Vietnam include solutions and best practices in areas like resource efficiency and effectiveness, recycling and re-manufacturing, innovative business models and examples for industrial symbiosis.

Mr. Elmar Dutt, Senior Director Marketing & Communications of Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh Stadt presented the general assembly of the conference, Deutsches Haus in Ho Chi Minh City not only as a best practice energy-efficient, sustainable, green premium office building development in Vietnam for the ASEAN-region, but the status quo, challenges and chances of sustainable building development in Vietnam and the region.
