Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City welcomes new German Consul General, Ms. Andrea Maria Sühl

12 August 2025 – Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City had the distinct honor of welcoming Ms. Andrea Maria Sühl, the newly appointed German Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, during her first visit to the building. Deutsches Haus is a lighthouse project of Germany in Vietnam and for the ASEAN region, and a symbol of the strategic partnership and enduring friendship between Germany and Vietnam.
This will be a meaningful year for Ms. Sühl, as she begins her term in Vietnam during a particularly significant time – the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Germany and Vietnam (1975–2025).
Accompanying the welcome were prominent representatives of German business and institutional community in Vietnam, including Mr. Elmar Dutt, General Director of Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Alexander Ziehe, Chairman of the German Business Association (GBA); and Mr. Peter Kompalla, Chief Representative and Managing Director of AHK Vietnam – Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam.

As part of her visit, Ms. Sühl was given a guided tour of Deutsches Haus and had the opportunity to engage with representatives of German institutions and companies based in the building. This interaction underscored the vibrancy and depth of the German business presence in Ho Chi Minh City.
